IASIMUN is the Model United Nations (MUN) conference of Iasi, Romania. Our mission is to give high school youths in Romania an opportunity to meet each other, discuss world problems, build awareness, and inspire each other to work for a better tomorrow. The conference is a three-day event that will take place from November 28th-30th, 2009 at the “Emil Racovita” National College in Iasi. IASIMUN is a youth conference conceived and organized by students, for students. This means that the responsibilities and rewards of taking part in IASIMUN belong to the youth participants.

We invite all Romanian high school students interested in global issues, problem solving, and debate (in English) to apply to IASIMUN. If your application is accepted, our team will assist you in training for the conference. The student Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, the Chairpersons, and MUN advisor (a US Peace Corps volunteer) will offer you resources, guidance, and an in-person training seminar in your region (depending on your location). Our goal is to prepare each student as much as possible so that everyone can successfully contribute to a lively and productive discussion.
