Apply as a group!

September 27th, 2009

Dear Applicants,

If you know another student or a group of students that are interested in applying to IASIMUN, we encourage you to apply using the “group application,” which can be found in the “Apply” tab above. If you apply as a group, there is a higher chance that all members of the group will be accepted to the conference. Also, there is a higher chance that we will be able to offer you an in-person training session at your school with the IASIMUN Advisor.

For example, if your school sends a group application with 8 participants, we will assign 2 countries to your school (based on your choice of countries). Each of those countries will be represented in each of the 4 committees (political, human rights, ecosoc, and environment). Thus, there would be 2 students from your school in each committee, representing 2 different countries.

It does not matter if the number of applicants is not a multiple of 4. If there are 7 applicants, we will still assign 2 countries and one of those country simply will not be represented in one of the committees.

Thank you, and good luck!

Apply for a variety of countries!

September 11th, 2009

On the FAQ page, you will find a list of all the countries which you may apply to represent. Be sure to apply for a good mix of developed and developing countries. The demand for countries such as the UK or France will be very high. You can increase your chances of getting your pick, if it is a less obvious choice. Good luck!
